Hemophilia Patient Programs and Services

At CSL Behring, we know that our mission and our business are all about our patients, so we demonstrate our commitment to the patient groups we serve in ways that go beyond the treatments we provide.

CSL Behring programs and services help patients and their families manage the daily challenges of living with hemophilia. We consider it our duty to:

  • Sponsor programs and support patient group activities that benefit hemophiliacs
  • Work with government authorities to help ensure that hemophilia patients have access to appropriate care
  • Work to improve on and expand education and outreach efforts
  • Operate educational Web sites as well as product Web sites that provide accurate, reliable disease information
  • Fund medical research internally and externally to improve the state of patients with bleeding disorders

We work to provide access for hemophilia patients to connect and stay connected to their community, be it their treatment center, factor provider, caregiver, or other families in the community.

We also work to ensure that hemophiliacs have access to resources that connect them to their therapies, in times when they need it the most.

Important Safety Information

Helixate® FS, Antihemophilic Factor (Recombinant), is a recombinant factor VIII treatment indicated for the control and prevention of bleeding episodes and peri-operative management in adults and children (0-16 years) with hemophilia A. Helixate® FS is also indicated for routine prophylaxis to reduce the frequency of bleeding episodes and the risk of joint damage in children with hemophilia A with no preexisting joint damage.

The most serious adverse reactions are systemic hypersensitivity reactions and the development of high-titer inhibitors necessitating alternative treatments to antihemophilic factor. The most common adverse reactions observed in clinical trials were inhibitor formation in previously untreated or minimally treated patients, skin-associated hypersensitivity reactions, infusion site reactions, and central venous access device (CVAD) line-associated infections.

Helixate® FS is contraindicated in patients who have manifested life-threatening immediate hypersensitivity reactions, including anaphylaxis, to the product or its components, including mouse or hamster proteins.
